The letter E is green and inside it is a DNA double helix. The letter C is blue and inside it is a symbolic cladogram. History of PEC in a nutshell

The Polish Evolutionary Conference, PEC, was founded as a modified version of the Workshop on Evolutionary Biology and Related Topics, professor Adam Łomnicki’s initiative, which had been held twice a year in Warsaw and aimed to exchange information between evolutionists representing scientific centres from all over Poland. PEC is the main yearly scientific event set up by the Committee of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The first edition of PEC took place in Kraków in 2013. The conference has been held in English from the start, allowing international students to participate and distinguished guests from foreign centres to contribute as plenary speakers.

To date, PEC has been organized in Kraków, Łódź, Warsaw, Poznań, Toruń, Białystok, and Gdańsk. The Jagiellonian University is once again the conference's organizer after ten years.
